Toyota on track to set an all-time Australian sales record in 2026
Strong demand across the LandCruiser, HiLux and RAV4 range combined with a surge in bZ4X orders has pushed Toyota to revise its annual sales target upward.

Toyota Australia has raised its 2026 sales forecast to more than 210,000 vehicles, a figure no automotive brand has ever hit in Australia.
The revised target comes after 44,000 deliveries in the first three months of the year including 16,574 in March alone. Standout performers included the bZ4X, Camry, Corolla Cross, HiAce and LandCruiser 300.
The biggest surprise in the numbers is the bZ4X. The electric SUV sold just 1,041 units in all of 2025. Toyota now expects it to clear 5,000 sales this year, driven by the updated model that launched in late 2025 and a new Touring variant due in the second quarter.

Demand is also running hot for Toyota's most popular models. Wait times for LandCruiser 300, HiLux, LandCruiser Prado and RAV4 remain at three to six months nationally.
Toyota Australia Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said the company entered the second quarter with real momentum behind it.
"Earlier this year, we forecast exceeding 200,000 sales in 2026. With the demand we are seeing and the increased supply coming, we now expect to exceed 210,000 sales - a milestone no other automotive brand has achieved in Australia," he said.
Pappas added that the first quarter showed a clear shift toward electrified vehicles, both battery-electric and hybrid, and pointed to new model updates and incoming EVs as reasons for confidence in the year ahead.
For buyers, the practical takeaway is simple: if you're considering a popular Toyota, get your order in early.
