Key takeaways
- 2027 Skoda Epiq confirmed for Australian showrooms next year
- Three variants offered with 85kW, 99kW or 155kW power outputs
- Flagship Epiq 55 delivers 440km WLTP range from 51.5kWh battery
Skoda has pulled the covers off the 2027 Skoda Epiq, its smallest and cheapest electric SUV yet, ahead of an Australian launch confirmed for the end of next year.
Three variants will be offered in Europe with up to 440km of WLTP range and starting pricing from around 25,000 euros (AU$40,800).
Skoda Australia head of marketing and product Kieran Merrigan confirmed local arrival last August, slotting the Epiq beneath the Elroq midsize SUV. Production kicks off in Spain next month.
The big question is local pricing. In Europe, Skoda is targeting parity with the petrol-powered Skoda Kamiq which starts at $33,990 driveaway in Australia. If Skoda Australia matches that, the Epiq lands squarely on the BYD Atto 2 and Kia EV3.

2027 Skoda Epiq battery and range
Three drivetrains are on offer, badged 35, 40 and 55. The 35 and 40 share a 37.5kWh LFP battery and front-wheel drive, rated at 310km of WLTP range. The flagship Epiq 55 steps up to a 51.5kWh NMC battery and a 155kW motor for 440km of range and a 7.1-second 0-100km/h sprint.
DC fast charging tops out at 105kW for the 55, with a claimed 10-80% top-up in under 25 minutes. All variants support 11kW AC home charging and bi-directional charging, including vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-grid functions.

| Epiq 40 | 37.5kWh LFP | 99kW/267Nm | 9.8sec | 310km |
| Epiq 55 | 51.5kWh NMC | 155kW/290Nm | 7.1sec | 440km |
Interior, tech and design

Inside, the Epiq runs a 13-inch central touchscreen with new Android-based software, supporting third-party apps including Spotify, Google Maps and YouTube. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain. Skoda's updated Travel Assist 3.0 system can now respond to traffic lights and stop signs.
Available features include matrix LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats and ambient interior lighting.
At 4171mm long with a 2601mm wheelbase, the Epiq is slightly shorter than the Kamiq, but offers a larger 475-litre boot plus a 25-litre frunk. It sits on Volkswagen Group's new MEB+ platform, shared with the incoming VW ID. Polo.
For buyers chasing a cheap European-built electric SUV, the Epiq is shaping up as one of the more compelling watch-list entries of 2027.
