Explore the Nissan range

Uber Drift has launched in Tokyo giving Australian travellers a rare chance to ride shotgun in iconic Japanese drift cars at one of the country's most technical circuits.

Bookings are open now via the Uber app for sessions running 3 June to 1 July 2026. The experience marks the Asia-Pacific debut of Uber's global "Go Anywhere" series.

What's included in the Uber Drift experience

Each booking is a curated half-day itinerary for groups of one to four passengers. Pickup is from your Tokyo accommodation in an Uber Black, the company's premium chauffeured service. From there it's roughly 90 minutes by road to Mobara Twin Circuit, a tight, technical track favoured by Japan's drift community.

Once trackside, guests strap in for around 90 minutes of action with Formula Drift licensed professionals at the wheel. Laps can be split between members of the group or burned through by a solo rider. The session wraps with a return Uber Black transfer back to Tokyo.

The cars: Nissan Silvia S15 and Nissan 180SX

Uber Drift

Both rides are bona fide JDM royalty. Drivers run tandem sets in a Nissan Silvia S15 and a Nissan 180SX, sliding inches apart through corners at speeds of up to 100km/h. Helmets are provided, with guests required to wear long sleeves, full-length pants and closed-toe shoes.

Capacity is tight with only four groups accepted each day, so slots will move quickly. Aussie visitors to Japan hit over one million in 2025, up 15% year-on-year, and Tokyo is the obvious hub.

For JDM fans heading north this winter, that's about as easy as cracking open Japan's drift scene gets.
