The Beep Weekly Roundup: Ford F-150, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Skoda Enyaq RS and BYD price rises across the range
A week dominated by ute and SUV updates, a new performance EV and a broad sweep of price increases across one of Australia's fastest-growing brands.

It's been a busy week in the Australian new car market. Two utes have been updated, three SUVs refreshed or confirmed, a performance EV has landed, one variant has been quietly axed and eight BYD models have all gone up in price at once.
Utes get busier

Ford has launched the refreshed F-150, adding a new range-topping Platinum grade alongside updates across the XLT and Lariat. The Platinum brings continuously controlled damping, auto-deploying side steps, a multi-folding hard tonneau cover, massage front seats and a fold-flat sleeping mode. The 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 carries over with 298kW, 678Nm and 4500kg braked towing. Pricing starts from $114,950 for the XLT, rising to $163,950 for the Platinum, with deliveries from the Mickleham re-manufacturing facility expected in early 2026.

Mazda has added two new BT-50 grades for 2026. The Thunder returns as the range-topper, bringing a bull bar, Lightforce driving lights, sports bar and roller tonneau cover on top of the GT's specification. The new Boss grade sits below the XTR, adding gloss black exterior trim, a tub liner and side steps. A 360-degree camera is now standard on XTR, GT and SP Pickup variants.
Plug-in and hybrid options expand

Honda has expanded its e:HEV hybrid system further down the CR-V range, with hybrid pricing now starting from $49,990 driveaway - around $7,000 less than the hybrid entry point in 2025. A new AWD hybrid variant has also been added, alongside heated rear seats, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera across the updated range.

Mitsubishi's updated Outlander PHEV is now in showrooms from $58,990 before on-roads. The headline change is a larger 22.7kWh battery delivering 86km of WLTP EV range. Combined fuel consumption improves to 1.2L/100km, and the suspension has been retuned for Australian conditions alongside a refreshed interior.

Skoda has confirmed the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupe RS as its most powerful production EVs to date. Both use a 79kWh battery with dual-motor AWD producing 250kW and 545Nm, hitting 100km/h in 5.4 seconds. WLTP range is 523km for the SUV and 534km for the Coupe, with DC fast charging up to 185kW. Pricing starts from $75,490 for the SUV and $76,490 for the Coupe before on-roads. Australian arrival timing is yet to be confirmed.
Discontinuation
Subaru has quietly dropped the entry-level WRX AWD Sportswagon grade, leaving the wagon body style available only in GT and tS specification.
Price increases worth noting

BYD has raised prices across its entire Australian lineup by $575-$589, affecting the Atto 1, Atto 2, Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, Sealion 5, Sealion 6 Extended and Sealion 8. Increases are modest at 1-2 per cent but the breadth of the move - eight models simultaneously - is notable for a brand that has been aggressively building market share.
The Mercedes G-Class 580 EQ has risen by $1,668, while the Mini Cooper S JCW and Countryman have both moved up by just over $1,000. The Subaru WRX Sedan has also increased by $730.
Offers and deals
Chery has a servicing offer running this week, GAC's Aion UT pre-order offer remains open through to 9 April, and Volkswagen has released the Amarok Dark Label V6 special edition.
Buyers watching the BYD range should move sooner rather than later - with eight models repriced in a single week, further adjustments are possible as the brand recalibrates its position in an increasingly competitive market.
