The 2027 Polestar 4 is now open for order in Australia, and the headline news is what hasn't changed. Despite a round of upgrades, the starting price holds steady at $78,500 before on-road costs. First deliveries are expected between July and August 2026.

Polestar has handed its best-selling model chassis and equipment revisions for the new model year, while leaving the powertrains and exterior design untouched.

What's new on the 2027 Polestar 4

Most of the work has gone into how the car drives. The chassis has been recalibrated with high-capacity passive dampers, new spring and anti-roll bar settings, and a revised steering tune. Polestar says the result is a more controlled ride with gains in both comfort and agility.

Charging is more flexible too. 22kW AC charging is now a standalone $900 option across the range, where it was previously bundled into the pricier Plus pack.

The lineup also drops the old Long Range names in favour of Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack. The Plus pack now costs $6,500, down from $8,000, and a new $1,200 Comfort pack adds a heated steering wheel, power steering column and 12-way powered front seats. The Pro pack has been retired, with its gold detailing now used to separate the grades visually.

That 3.8-second Dual motor remains the quickest model in the Polestar range. It also carries the lowest carbon footprint of any Polestar, a figure the brand says has fallen since the model launched here.

The updated Polestar 4 arrives ahead of the larger Polestar 5 and continues to chase the segment-leading Tesla Model Y on the Australian sales charts.

Holding the price while sharpening the drive is a smart move for Polestar's strongest seller. For buyers, the 2027 Polestar 4 is a more polished car for the same money.
