  • 2027 Ferrari Luce is Ferrari's first EV with 772kW output
  • First five-seat Ferrari ever, designed by Jony Ive's LoveFrom
  • Confirmed for Australia, pricing and timing yet to be announced

Ferrari has unveiled the 2027 Luce in Rome, marking its first fully electric car and an entirely new chapter for the Italian brand.

The Ferrari Luce is a 772kW five-seat super sedan with four electric motors, a 530km range and a cabin designed by former Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive. Australian arrival is confirmed.

2027 Ferrari Luce performance and battery specs

Four electric motors drive all four wheels, producing a peak 772kW (1050cv) and 990Nm at the motors. Ferrari quotes 11,500Nm at the wheels once axle reduction is factored in.

The 122kWh battery runs on an 800V architecture and supports up to 350kW DC charging, adding 70kWh in around 20 minutes. Ferrari claims more than 530km of WLTP range despite a 2260kg kerb weight.

Jony Ive design leads the 2027 Ferrari Luce

Ferrari handed exterior and interior design to LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Jony Ive and Marc Newson. It's the first time Maranello has outsourced lead design of one of its road cars.

The result is a clean, glass-house silhouette with floating aerodynamic wings front and rear. Light panels recede when switched off, and the halo tail-lights nod to the 360 Modena and 458 Italia.

At 0.254Cd, the Luce is the most aerodynamic Ferrari road car ever built. It also rolls on the largest staggered wheels fitted to a production Ferrari, measuring 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear.

Ferrari Luce Interior

Inside, the cabin combines anodised aluminium, Corning Gorilla Glass and Samsung OLED displays. A three-spoke steering wheel machined from recycled aluminium sits alongside the iconic five-position Manettino and a new e-Manettino dial. The key uses an E Ink display, an automotive world-first.

First five-seat Ferrari built on a bespoke EV platform

The Luce is the first five-seat Ferrari ever and only the second four-door after the Ferrari Purosangue. It sits on a dedicated EV platform that places the battery in the floor, dropping the centre of gravity by 95mm versus the Purosangue.

Ferrari says the lower mass distribution makes the Luce change direction like a car around 400kg lighter than it actually is.

Ferrari Luce Rear

Sound comes from a real source. An accelerometer in the rear axle captures motor and gear vibrations, which are then filtered and amplified inside the cabin and outside the car, much like an electric guitar pickup.

"In line with our belief in technological neutrality, we are the first in the world to combine fully electric, hybrid and combustion engine architectures for sports cars," said Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna.

2027 Ferrari Luce Australian availability

Ferrari has confirmed the Luce is coming to Australia with local pricing and timing yet to be announced. Expect it to sit above the Purosangue, which currently starts above $700,000 plus on-road costs.

The Luce arrives with Ferrari's seven-year maintenance program and a separate eight-year warranty covering the electric powertrain.

The Luce doesn't replace the V8s and V12s. It just gives Ferrari buyers a reason to own one more.
