Second price cut in six months

This is the second time Subaru has reduced Solterra pricing in six months. The facelifted model arrived late last year with prices up to $7,000 lower than before, despite a larger battery, more power and a new look.

Subaru has not confirmed whether recent buyers will receive the price difference. The brand is encouraging customers who have placed an order to contact their retailer for guidance.

The strategy appears to be working. The Solterra recorded 324 deliveries in the first four months of 2026, up 376.5% on the same period last year and the only Subaru model to post a year-on-year gain.

For buyers weighing up an electric SUV, Subaru's EVs are now priced to compete head-on with their Toyota twins rather than sitting above them.
