Key takeaways
- Electric C-Class interior mirrors GLC EV with giant Hyperscreen
- Vegan-certified cabin and multi-source heat pump are standard options
- Full reveal in South Korea on 20 April with specs expected
Mercedes-Benz has given the world its first look inside the 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class electric and there's no mistaking the family resemblance. The cabin is dominated by the same pillar-to-pillar MBUX Hyperscreen layout seen in the recently launched electric GLC, packing close to 10 million pixels into a single sweeping display.

Buyers will get a choice of two setups. The standard MBUX Superscreen uses three separate screens under a single glass panel, while the optional Hyperscreen merges everything into one continuous display. Both offer 10 ambient lighting themes that sync with the instrument cluster and optional door lighting.
Physical controls haven't disappeared entirely. Buttons remain on the centre console and steering wheel, though the interior is overwhelmingly digital.
2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class electric comfort and materials
Built on a dedicated electric platform, the new C-Class promises more interior space than any of its predecessors. A standard panoramic glass roof adds to the sense of openness, with an optional Sky Control version embedding 162 illuminated stars into the glass.

Front seats offer four-way lumbar support, ventilation, massage and a 4D sound function that channels audio vibrations through the seat structure. Three interior colours are available: black, beech brown, and ivory beige.
Material options range from standard Softtorino synthetic leather to Twisted Diamond Nappa leather and AMG Line seats with moccasin stitching. A vegan-certified interior, verified by The Vegan Society, makes this just the second Mercedes-Benz model to offer the option after the GLC.
A standard multi-source heat pump heats the cabin twice as fast as combustion-powered models while using roughly half the energy. Laminated front side glass, extensive sound deadening and a redesigned air-conditioning unit round out what Mercedes-Benz describes as an exceptionally quiet cabin.
What we still don't know
Mercedes-Benz is holding back powertrain and performance details until the full reveal on 20 April in South Korea. Based on the electric GLC, the C-Class is expected to ride on the same 800-volt MB.EA platform, which produces 483hp and 800Nm from dual motors with a 94kWh battery offering up to 673km of WLTP range in the SUV.
Australian pricing and availability haven't been confirmed. The electric C-Class will sit alongside the existing petrol-powered model rather than replacing it, and its key rival will be the BMW i3 sedan on the Neue Klasse platform.
Buyers wanting the full picture won't have long to wait.
