Denza has pushed out its first major over-the-air update for the B5 and B8 in Australia, and it lands free for owners. Version 1.1.0 sharpens towing and off-road performance across both plug-in hybrid SUVs, with no dealership visit required.
What the update adds for towing
Both SUVs gain expanded towing functions.
The Denza B5 now offers cruise control while towing, a dedicated towing mode switch and trailer weight selection so the vehicle can adjust its performance for stability.
The Denza B8 picks up cruise control in towing mode plus dynamic range estimation for more realistic range figures under load.
Off-road upgrades tuned on Australian tracks

The off-road changes follow testing at Beer O'Clock Hill in Queensland earlier this year. Data from those runs fed into a revised traction control calibration on the Dual Mode Off-Road platform, designed to better balance wheel speed and motor torque. Denza says the result is steadier control on low-grip surfaces and more confidence in sand.
Cabin and security tweaks round out the update. The head-up display now shows turn signals, and both models add a driver password lock. The B8 also gets improved anti-jam resistance for its folding second and third-row seats.
"We are listening to customer feedback, not only through our local engineering team but also through real-world experiences shared by owners driving on Australian roads and tracks," said Denza Australia chief operating officer Mark Harland.
For B5 and B8 owners, this is a real capability boost that arrives without a service appointment or a bill.
