- New 67kWh battery delivers up to 500km WLTP range
- Australian arrival confirmed for the first half of 2027
Renault has revealed the facelifted Megane E-Tech and the update runs deeper than a styling refresh. The 2027 Renault Megane E-Tech gains a bigger battery, longer range, quicker charging and a load of new technology.
Renault Australia has confirmed local showrooms will get it in the first half of 2027.

Bigger battery and longer range
The headline change sits under the floor. A new 67kWh battery replaces the old 60kWh unit, lifting WLTP range from 454km to 500km. Renault has also swapped the chemistry from NMC to LFP and moved to a cell-to-pack design, a shift that should help keep costs down against cheaper rivals.
The trade-off is height. The Megane now sits 20mm taller to fit the larger pack.
Charging gets a useful bump too. DC fast charging climbs to 165kW, up from 130kW, while AC charging is now standardised at up to 11kW, with 22kW available as an option. The car can also run 220V appliances at up to 3.7kW through vehicle-to-load, and vehicle-to-grid is on the table depending on the market.
One-pedal driving has finally arrived, alongside a standard heat pump and battery pre-conditioning.
2027 Renault Megane E-Tech specs
| Specification | Detail |
| Battery (usable) | 67kWh |
| WLTP range | Up to 500km |
| Motor output | 160kW / 300Nm |
| 0-100km/h | 7.6 seconds |
| DC fast charging | Up to 165kW |
| AC charging | Up to 11kW standard, 22kW optional |
The front motor carries over untouched at 160kW and 300Nm. Oddly, the 0-100km/h time has slipped slightly to 7.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds slower than before, thanks to the heavier battery.
A new look and smarter cabin

Visually, the front end has been reworked. Apart from the headlights, every front component is new, including a deeper closed grille, a reshaped bumper and chequerboard LED running lights at the corners.
The Renault logo now sits below the bonnet line. At the rear, the full-width light bar gets a 3D design with no covering lens.

Inside, a 12.3-inch driver display and 12.0-inch touchscreen replace the old 9.0-inch unit. The infotainment runs Google's Automotive operating system, with Google Maps, the Gemini assistant and the Play store built in.
A new A-pillar camera can recognise the driver and load their seat, media and cabin settings automatically, and Renault says the facial scan stays in the car rather than being sent to a server.
It’s confirmed for Australia
In Europe the range is now two trims, Techno and Esprit Alpine. The Techno gets 19-inch wheels and a higher-quality dashboard, while the Esprit Alpine adds 20-inch alloys, massaging seats and a Harman Kardon sound system.
Australia currently only receives the Techno, so the local line-up is yet to be confirmed. The current Renault Megane E-Tech has been a slow seller here, with around 620 sales in 17 months against a crowded field of cheaper Chinese electric SUVs.
Pricing and final specifications have not been announced. A Renault Australia spokesperson said "The Renault Megane E-Tech facelift is due in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2027. Prices and specifications will be announced closer to showroom arrivals."

The outgoing model struggled to find buyers. With more range, faster charging and sharper tech, the 2027 update gives Renault a much stronger case in a tough segment.
