Explore the Ford range

Ford has revealed the 2027 Mustang Mach-E, adding a raised-suspension Trail version and fitting an extended-range battery to every variant of its electric crossover. The update was announced in the US on Thursday, and Ford has not said whether any of it is coming to Australia.

Select and Premium models now carry an 88kWh usable battery. The GT and Rally step up to 91kWh. Final US range figures will be announced closer to on-sale.

All-wheel-drive models also get a new front motor. Ford says it delivers the same output as the outgoing unit at lower cost, which helps offset the larger battery and keeps pricing down.

What the Mach-E Trail adds

The Trail is an all-wheel-drive Select with its ride height raised 10mm at the front and 15mm at the rear. The Rally sits higher again, with a 10mm lift at the front and 20mm at the rear, while the GT is lowered 10mm at both ends. In the US, the Trail is a US$2,295 package on the Select all-wheel-drive.

Equipment includes:

  • Suspension and steering: specially tuned struts and springs, plus the Rally’s steering rack
  • Wheels and tyres: 19-inch gloss dark grey alloys with 235/55 R19 Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres
  • Styling: unique bodyside graphics, a Carbon Black lower front fascia and a Trail logo on the centre armrest
  • Power outlets: standard 400W Pro Power Onboard, with outlets in the cargo area and rear centre console
