BMW Australia has confirmed pricing for the new iX4, an electric coupe SUV due in local showrooms in the first quarter of 2027. Two dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants open the range, the iX4 40 xDrive from $103,900 and the iX4 50 xDrive from $119,900 before on-roads.
The iX4 is the third model built on BMW's Neue Klasse electric architecture and is effectively a lower-roofed version of the iX3 that launched here earlier this year. A high-performance iX4 M60 xDrive will join the range later in 2027.

How the iX4 differs from the iX3
The iX4 matches the iX3's 4782mm length, 1895mm width and 2897mm wheelbase, but its roof sits 40mm lower at 1595mm. The fastback tail also trims the drag coefficient from 0.24 to 0.23.
The sloping roofline costs some cargo space. The boot holds 490L with the rear seats up, 30L less than the iX3, and 1600L with them folded, down 150L. The 58L front boot is unchanged.

The entry iX4 costs $14,000 more than the cheapest iX3, a rear-wheel-drive 40 at $89,900, though every iX4 comes with two motors and all-wheel drive. Further up, the iX4 50 xDrive is $10,000 dearer than its iX3 equivalent.
