Range, power and charging

Every G6 now runs XPeng's 800V silicon carbide architecture, unlocking 5C ultra-fast DC charging across the board.

RWD Long Range218kW/440Nm80.8kWh LFP525km6.7s
AWD Performance358kW/660Nm80.8kWh LFP510km4.13s
AWD Performance Black Edition358kW/660Nm80.8kWh LFP510km4.13s

The Standard Range charges at up to 382kW DC, while every other grade tops out at 451kW, enough for a 10 to 80% top-up in as little as 12 minutes. Vehicle-to-load capability of up to 6kW is standard across the range.

The Black Edition doesn't change any of that. It's a styling pack over the AWD Performance, adding black paint, black 20-inch wheels, smoked exterior badging and black brake calipers.

Standard equipment and safety

All four grades get a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 18-speaker XOPERA sound system and over-the-air updates. Nappa leather and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats are available, though XPeng hasn't confirmed which grades get them as standard.

The XPILOT Assist suite covers adaptive cruise control, lane centring, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and a surround-view camera with a transparent chassis function.

This is the first G6 update since XPeng ANZ took over as factory distributor, running alongside independent importer TrueEV, which previously held the exclusive rights. XPeng and TrueEV are reportedly contesting that change in the Federal Court.

Every G6 sold by XPeng ANZ carries a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for private buyers and an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty.

Why the price cut squeezes TrueEV's remaining stock

This isn't just a discount, it's XPeng ANZ using its factory pricing power against its own rival distributor. TrueEV's existing 2025 G6 Long Range stock is currently listed with drive-away pricing from around $53,000 to $61,000, well above the new factory-backed RWD Standard Range at $51,800 before on-road costs.

With XPeng ANZ and TrueEV both selling G6s in Australia during an active Federal Court dispute over the distribution rights, TrueEV has little room to hold its pricing once the cheaper, better-equipped new model reaches showrooms. Expect TrueEV-sourced G6 listings to compress within weeks, particularly on lower grades where the price gap is widest.

XPeng just handed itself the cheapest way into a mid-size electric SUV with 500km-plus range, and its old distributor has to work out how to compete with its own former supplier.
