Volvo Australia has cut prices on the EX30 and EX40 electric SUVs by up to $11,300 with no changes to specifications. The reductions apply to new orders placed from 1 April 2026.

The move comes as Volvo's electric vehicle sales fell sharply last year. EX30 deliveries dropped around 40% to 1281 units, while EX40 sales fell a similar amount to 743. The brand's share of electric vehicle sales dropped from 43.4% to 33.4% across 2025.

Volvo says the repricing is designed to make room for the EX60, its incoming mid-size electric SUV, expected in Australia in late 2026 or early 2027.

The EX30 now opens at $49,990 before on-road costs, down from $59,990. The biggest saving falls on the Single Motor Extended Range Ultra which drops $11,300.

At $49,990, the EX30 now sits closer to rivals like the Zeekr X and BYD Atto 3, though it remains a premium pick in that bracket. The EX40 at $69,990 is more squarely in the fight against the BMW iX1 and Tesla Model Y.

Buyers who ordered before 1 April should check with their dealer directly, with Volvo confirming dealers are handling those cases individually.

For anyone who's had the EX30 or EX40 on their radar, the pricing is now the most competitive it's ever been locally.
