Subaru marks 60,000 WRX sales with sunrise yellow limited edition

Subaru Australia has launched the WRX AWD Club Spec Evo, a limited-edition variant built to mark the nameplate's 60,000-unit milestone in Australia. It's on sale now through Subaru dealers nationwide.

Based on the WRX tS Spec B, the Club Spec Evo adds $1,000 to that car's price and brings a handful of distinctive touches. The most obvious is the exclusive Sunrise Yellow exterior, which is the only colour on offer. Matte black 19-inch alloys, Club Spec Evo door decals, and individually numbered interior badges round out the exterior and cabin updates.

Inside, Recaro sports bucket seats finished in Ultrasuede with leather-look accents and yellow contrast stitching replace the standard chairs. That yellow stitching extends across the instrument panel, door trims, and centre console.

Mechanically it's unchanged from the tS Spec B. That means the 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer four producing 202kW and 350Nm, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual. No automatic option, full stop. The manual WRX covers 0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds and returns 9.9L/100km on the combined cycle.

The Club Spec Evo name last appeared on WRX variants in the mid-2000s. With just 75 cars allocated for Australia, buyers keen on one should move quickly.
