What the price cuts mean for Peugeot in Australia
Inchcape, which also handles Subaru, Deepal and Foton locally, has agreed with parent company Stellantis to end their Peugeot partnership once a transition period wraps up.
Stellantis insists Peugeot has a strong future in Australia and says it will keep distribution running, though it hasn't confirmed who will take the reins. Existing owners keep their warranty and servicing through the changeover.
Inchcape is clearing its stock
Inchcape is the one walking away and as the importer it likely owns the cars already landed here.
That gives it every reason to move them fast, before Peugeot shifts to a new distributor or leaves Australia altogether. It also explains the uneven cuts: the older 2008, 308 and 408 are down more than 20%, while the newer 3008 and 5008 give up only 10 to 14%. The run-out stock has to go first.
