Key takeaways
- The Style is $5000 cheaper than the BYD Atto 2 before on-roads.
- Driveaway offers apply to Acorn Brown cars delivered by 31 December.
- The Design LR's 53kWh battery delivers up to 382km of WLTP range.
Leapmotor has priced its new B03X small electric SUV from $29,990 driveaway, making it the cheapest electric SUV in Australia. The B03X reaches dealerships in November in two grades, Style and Design LR.
Before on-road costs, the Style lists at $26,990. That is $5000 less than the BYD Atto 2 Dynamic, which held the title until today, and within $500 of the entry-level Geely EX2 hatch.
The driveaway prices are a launch offer. They apply to cars in the standard Acorn Brown paint bought and delivered between 1 October and 31 December 2026, or while stocks last, and exclude government, fleet and rental buyers. The five other colours cost $990.

Range, charging and practicality
The Style pairs a 39.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a 130kW/200Nm electric motor. The Design LR steps up to a 53kWh LFP pack, slightly bigger than the Atto 2's 51.1kWh battery, and lifts power to 145kW. Both claim 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds and a 160km/h top speed.

Charging is quicker than the BYD's. Both grades get 11kW AC charging, with DC fast charging peaking at 100kW on the Style and 133kW on the Design LR, against 82kW DC and 7kW AC for the Atto 2. Leapmotor claims a 30-80% top-up takes about 16 minutes in ideal conditions, and 3.3kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) is standard.
At 4270mm long and 1810mm wide on a 2605mm wheelbase, the B03X is slightly smaller than the Atto 2 and sits below the B10 in Leapmotor's range. The rear seat bases flip up to free floor space for tall items, a 105L storage box sits under the boot floor, and cargo space reaches 1315L with the rear seats folded.
