Cupra has confirmed Australian pricing for the Formentor VZ5, its most expensive and most powerful model yet. It's priced at $94,990 before on-roads, or $101,990 driveaway nationally. First deliveries are expected between December 2026 and March 2027.
Orders are open now, with Cupra dealers taking customer-specific build slots ahead of a production run scheduled from May to December 2026. Fewer than 100 units make up the initial Australian allocation, though Cupra says it's working with global teams to secure more if demand warrants it.
Power comes from a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing 287kW and 480Nm, the same unit found in the Audi RS3 and RSQ3 but retuned by Cupra. It drives all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with 0-100km/h dispatched in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h. Supporting hardware includes an electro-hydraulic torque vectoring rear differential, adaptive DCC suspension and six-piston Akebono front brake calipers.

Visually, the VZ5 is hard to miss. Flared wheel arches, a carbon-fibre front splitter, copper-tipped quad exhausts and 20-inch black and copper alloy wheels separate it from every other Formentor on the road. Five paint finishes are available, one standard, one premium ($790) and three matte options ($3,300 each). Those are the only options. Everything else, including Sabelt CUP bucket seats with carbon-fibre backs, a Sennheiser audio system and a panoramic sunroof, is already included.
At $101,990 driveaway, it comfortably eclipses Cupras previous price ceiling. Before this, the Terramar VZe PHEV at $77,990 before on-roads held that title.
If you want one, don't wait. With under 100 cars in the first batch, allocations will go quickly.
