Chery E5 now $37,990 driveaway as brand trims line-up to one sharp variant

Chery has simplified the E5 range to a single well-equipped Ultimate variant, cutting $3,000 from its price and making it one of Australia's most competitive electric small SUVs.

Chery Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the MY26 E5 with the electric small SUV now available in a single Ultimate variant priced from $37,990 driveaway.

The previous entry-level Urban model has been cut from the range, but buyers aren't missing out. The Ultimate was the top-spec model before, and it's now $3000 cheaper than it was.

The E5 uses a front-mounted electric motor and draws power from a lithium iron phosphate battery. Chery claims a WLTP range of 430km, with a full 30-to-80 per cent DC charge taking around 30 minutes at up to 130kW.

Equipment on the Ultimate is generous for the price point. Standard kit includes a sunroof, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, 360-degree cameras, a Sony sound system and a full suite of active safety tech. One standout feature in the EV segment: a full-size spare wheel.
