Key takeaways

  • Just 300 numbered cars, the final three-door Jimny Heritage run in Australia
  • First Jimny Heritage offered with an automatic, and no manual this time
  • From $42,490 driveaway, a $1,500 premium over the standard Jimny auto

The Suzuki Jimny Heritage Edition is back in Australia, and for the first time it comes with an automatic gearbox. Suzuki Australia will sell 300 more examples of the three-door 4x4, priced from $42,490 driveaway and available to pre-order now.

Every previous Heritage Edition, including the original three-door run and the 500-unit Jimny XL five-door version from 2024, was sold as a manual only. This batch reverses that, with no manual offered at all.

The new cars are individually numbered 301 to 600, continuing from the first batch of 300 manuals. Suzuki says those sold out in about five hours.

Suzuki has also confirmed this is the last time the three-door Heritage will be offered here.

"But this is it. These 300 individually numbered vehicles, from 301 to 600, will be the final Jimny 3-Door Heritage limited edition models sold in Australia," said Suzuki Australia general manager Michael Pachota.

What the Jimny Heritage adds

The Heritage is built on the Jimny GLX automatic, the higher-spec three-door rather than the base Jimny Lite. It adds:

  • Red front and rear mud flaps
  • Heritage exterior decals and a limited-build badge
  • Heritage cargo tray
  • Heritage pack, with contents yet to be detailed (previous editions included a drink bottle, pen, keyring and a $50 merchandise voucher)

Standard equipment carries over from the GLX, including LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth seats, climate-control air conditioning and a 9.0-inch infotainment screen.

Mechanically, nothing changes. The Heritage uses the familiar 75kW/130Nm 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with a four-speed torque-converter automatic. Part-time four-wheel drive with low range, rigid axles front and rear and 15-inch alloy wheels keep the off-road hardware intact.

The automatic opens the Heritage up to buyers who don't drive a manual, which Suzuki says customers had been asking for.

That works out to a $1,500 premium over the standard Jimny three-door automatic.

Pre-orders are open now through Suzuki Australia dealerships. With only 300 cars available and the first batch gone within hours, interested buyers will need to move quickly.
