MG has launched the updated 2026 MG4 EV in Australia with a significantly overhauled interior and a simplified two-model range. Both variants are available in showrooms now.

Updated interior and tech
The interior has been redesigned along the same lines as the MG S5 EV with a new 12.8-inch touchscreen replacing the old 10.25-inch unit and a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster replacing the previous 7.0-inch screen. Physical buttons and dials return for climate and volume controls, which is a welcome change.
Built-in apps including Spotify, YouTube and Amazon Music are now standard, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 360-degree camera, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and six-speaker audio round out the kit.
What's new outside
Exterior changes are modest. The Essence 64 gains a new rear spoiler and revised 18-inch alloy wheels, while three new colours join the palette: Iris Cyan, Sterling Silver and Piccadilly Blue.
The 2026 MG4 EV is positioned as the driver's choice in MG's small EV lineup. With its rear-wheel-drive layout, 50:50 weight distribution and standard ADAS suite, it makes a credible case against the BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora 5 at this price point.
