2026 Mazda CX-60 PHEV cut by $7150 as large SUV range gets repriced

Mazda Australia has overhauled pricing across its entire large SUV family, with the 2026 CX-60, CX-70, CX-80 and CX-90 all on sale now with revised prices and updated specifications.
The headline change is a cut of up to $7,150 on CX-60 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) grades and up to $7,650 on CX-80 PHEVs. Mazda has also equalised petrol and diesel pricing across equivalent grades, ending the previous practice of charging around $2,000 more for a diesel over its petrol sibling.
What changed on the 2026 Mazda CX-60 and CX-90
Beyond the price restructure, the CX-60 and CX-90 both gain meaningful spec upgrades for 2026.
Mazda Connected Services is now standard on both models, bringing them into line with the CX-70 and CX-80 which had it from launch. The connected suite uses an embedded eSIM and works with the MyMazda app, covering:
- Emergency SOS call
- Vehicle locator and stolen vehicle assistance
- Geofencing and curfew notifications
- Vehicle status and health monitoring
Both models also gain Front Cross Traffic Brake and Cruising Traffic Support with Driver Emergency Assist as standard across all grades. Previously these were only available from Evolve trim upwards on the CX-60.
The CX-90 GT now comes standard with the Sports Appearance Package, swapping chrome exterior trim for gloss black across the signature wing, bumper guard, mirror caps, window mouldings, roof rails and badging, plus gloss black 21-inch alloy wheels.
A new colour, Polymetal Grey Metallic, replaces Sonic Silver on both the CX-60 and CX-90 as a $995 option.
The CX-70 receives no spec changes but benefits from price cuts across the board, with diesel grades falling by up to $8,814. The CX-80 gains a new entry point with the Pure D50e diesel at $56,100 plus on-roads, cutting the previous diesel entry price by $8,600.
"We're now making the range even more compelling by increasing the value proposition and making each model more attainable than ever," said Mazda Australia Managing Director Vinesh Bhindi.

This is a brand strategy story. Since the CX-60 launched in Australia in 2023, the top-spec P50e Azami PHEV has fallen $12,412 in price, and the CX-90 G50e Azami is $11,555 cheaper than at launch. That trajectory is not gradual refinement, it is a response to the rapid expansion of Chinese electric and hybrid SUVs that are offering more power, more range and more technology at prices that undercut Mazda's original positioning. The decision to equalise petrol and diesel pricing removes a friction point that was costing Mazda diesel sales, but the far more significant move is bringing the PHEV premium down to $5,000 over a petrol equivalent. At that gap, the CX-60 P50e with its 76km of electric range becomes a genuinely different conversation for buyers currently shopping the Toyota Kluger or Kia Sorento against the growing field of Chinese alternatives.
Taken together, these cuts add up to a large SUV range that is considerably more accessible than when Mazda first introduced it. Buyers who held off on the CX-60 PHEV when it was priced at a near-$8,000 premium are now looking at a very different equation.
